En. Kamaruzaman kicked off the meeting by extending his sincere gratitude to all present for taking time off their busy schedule to attend this meeting. He also informed that Brazil, the original host of this competition, was unable to fulfil the requirements hence MSDeaf with the blessing of International Committee of Sports for the Deaf (ICSD) and MSN, had been awarded the hosting of this prestigious event.

A total of 84 men, 55 women and 69 officials from 20 countries have submitted their entries. The countries are Bahrain, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Ghana, Hong Kong, Korea, Kuwait, Latvia, Philippines, Poland, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Thailand, Turkey, Chinese Taipei, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates and host, Malaysia.

Preparations for welcoming and receiving the athletes and officials have been finalised so are the allocation of rooms at the official hotel, Sunway Clio. PDRM Bandar Sunway will be providing the neceesary security to the athletes and officials round the clock for the duration of the competition.

It was announced that should athletes and officials require assistance in getting Covid-19 PCR or Antigen tests, the organizing committee has already made arrangements for them. Random anti-doping tests will also be conducted primarily for the medal winners.

The organising committee also anounced that there will be a simple opening ceremony planned for October 20 at Sunway Megalanes for the participating teams marchpast. The victory banquet has also been planned when the competition ends on October 30 at Sunway Megalaanes.
