Fifteen states vying for honors

29th September, Petaling Jaya: 294 men, women, boys, girls and seniors from fifteen states will be vying for honors when the 35th Malaysian Interstate Bowling Championships kicks off at Sunway Megalanes on Monday.

Sixty from each of the men, women, youth boys, youth girls divisions and 54 from each of the senior division participating for the first time have converged at Sunway Megalanes for the coveted event.

At the team managers' meeting held at 3.00pm at Sunway Megalanes, participating teams confirmed their players submitted earlier. Mr Maradona Chok, secretary general of MTBC and tournament director with his assistant tournament director, Mr Y.K. Choo conducted the meeting.

He went through the schedule of the 35th Interstate Bowling Championships and distributed the lane draws for each of the Singles, Doubles, Team of 4 for the three divisions and the Singles, Doubles and Mixed Team of 4 for the Seniors.

Mr Chok also briefed on the proceedings for the official opening ceremony which is to held later this evening at 6.00pm, when teams will march past in front of the guest of honor, YBhg Tan Sri Dato' Dr. Mohammad Norza Zakaria, President of Olympic Council of Malaysia and Vice President of Olympic Council of Asia along newly-elected President of MTBC, YBhg Dato Najeeb Abdullah.

Competition will kick off with the Singles on Monday, September 30, Doubles on Tuesday, October 1 and concluding with the Team of 4 on Wednesday, October 2. Qualifying rounds for the 46th Malaysian National Bowling Championships will begin on Thursday, October 3 through to October 6. The Masters finals for the Youth and Senior on October 7, the Graded and Open divisions on October 8. Live scoring and live video streaming will be featured daily.
