2nd October, Petaling Jaya: Four-time national champion, Sharon Koh of WP Putrajaya and Faten Najihah shared top spot of the Women's Open qualifying table of the 47th Malaysian National Tenpin Bowling Championships 2025 while Megat Zaqrul Haiqal topped the Men's Open standings.

Koh reeled in 257, 211, 226, 257, 197 and 216 in her first attempt in Squad 4 for a total of 1364 pinfalls to lead the standings. 36th Interstate All Events silver medalist, Faten Najihah shot 227, 268, 197, 207, 228 and 237 to tie with Koh in top spot.

Youth Girls Team silver medalist and National Youth squad member, Adania Mohd Redzwan occupied third position, just one pin behind the leading duo. 36th Interstate Women's Doubles silver medalist, Nur Syazwani Sahar finished fourth with 1347 while Women's Team gold medalist, Intan Qistina of Sabah rounded up the top five with 1339.

National Podium squad member, Anis Hannani Binti Romzi occupied the automatic Masters Finals qualifier's spot after winning the Women's All Events gold medal of the 36th Interstate Tenpin Bowling Championships 2025 which ended two days ago.

Meanwhile, Megat Zaqrul Haiqal of Pulau Pinang amassed a 6-game total of 1495 to lead the Men's Open qualifying standings ahead of two silver medalist of the 36th Interstate, Izz Naqiuddin Putera of Negeri Sembilan and a member of the National Podium squad taking up second with 1487.

2025 Malaysian Open Men's Open Masters champion, Ethan Damien Goh finished third with 1485. Newly-crowned Samho Cup champion and last year's first runner-up, Rafiq Ismail took fourth spot with 1453. 2024 Youth Open champion, Tsen Fan Yew completed the top five with 1445.

The top 22 qualifiers along with the defending champion, Muhammad Hafiz Bin Alihanafiah and the 36th Interstate All Events gold medalist, Muhd Adam Darwish of Pulau Pinang/FND Empire totaling 24 qualifiers will contest the 8-game Masters Finals on Sunday, October 5.

The top 16 qualifiers together with the defending champion Gillian Lim, a member of the National Podium squad and the 36th Interstate All Events gold medalist, Anis Hannani Binti Romzi will contest the 8-game Masters Finals on Sunday, October 5.
