30th September, Petaling Jaya: 27th Asian Championships two gold medalist, Natasha Roslan and ex-international Shalin Zulkifli bagged the Women's Singles gold and bronze medals of the 35th Malaysian Interstate Bowling Championships with Faten Najihah of Pahang taking the silver.

National squad member, Nurul Anis Nabila of Kedah and Puteri Iman Amani of Pahang set the opening pace with 238 to share the lead. 27th Asian Champioships teo silver medalist, Gillian Lim trailed the pair by 15 pins with Farah Izzazaya of Pahang in fourth.

Nor Baitul Ayu Atisya of Perak took over the lead after rolling 246 to add to her opening game of 204. Natasha shot 203 and 235 to take up second spot and Lim remaining in third. But Nor Baitul's lead only lasted one game after Natasha shot an identical 235 in her third game.

With another scintillating game of 279 in the fourth and 247 in the fifth games, Natasha had stretch her lead well ahead with 125 pins margin. Shalin also shot a sizzling 278 in the third game and 235 and 196 in her next two games to leapfrog into second.

Natasha ended with another superb 246 to bag the gold medal with 1445, higher than what the men can do in their earlier singles. Faten Najihah of Pahang stormed home to snatch the silver medal with 1295. Shalin settled for third and the bronze medal with 1285.

Lim and Nor Baitul completed the top five with 1268 and 1243 respectively. Competition will resume tomorrow with the Doubles event and concluding with the Team of 4 on October 2.
